Initial Teacher Preparation Programs
Initial Teacher Preparation Programs or ITPs are offered by Florida postsecondary institutions to prepare instructional personnel under section 1004.04, F.S., resulting in qualification for an initial Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate. Candidates of ITP Programs are typically working towards a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree.

Approved ITP Programs
ITP Program Approval Process
Review and approval of Initial Teacher Preparation Programs in Florida consists of two parallel systems - one for initial approval and one for continued approval - both of which are governed by State Statute and Rule. The focus of the initial review is "process-oriented," whereas the focus of the continued review is "outcome-oriented."
