Education Commissioner Manny Diaz, Jr. and Secretary John Davis Hosts Bright Futures Scholarship Event at Jones High School

Tallahassee, FL, March 26, 2024 - Florida Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. and Lottery Secretary John F. Davis visited Jones High School to speak with more than 150 9th and 10th graders about the many opportunities available to them through the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. This is the third high school that Commissioner Diaz and Secretary Davis have visited this school year to raise awareness of Florida Bright Futures Scholarships.

The Florida Bright Futures Program was established in 1997 and is funded by the Florida Lottery to reward Florida’s brightest high school students for their academic achievements. The Florida Bright Futures Program offers four scholarships: the Florida Academic Scholarship, Florida Medallion Scholarship, Florida Gold Seal CAPE Scholarship and the Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholarship. Current seniors and students seeking state financial aid for the 2024-25 school year have until August 31, 2024, to apply.
