Reading Achievement Initiative for Scholastic Excellence (RAISE) High School Tutoring Program

The RAISE High School Tutoring Program prepares eligible high school students to tutor students in kindergarten through grade 3. School districts that wish to participate in the RAISE High School Tutoring Program must recruit, train and deploy eligible high school students using the materials developed by the Florida Department of Education.

The training is a Train-the-Trainer model for district/LEA representatives. The content covers the RAISE High School Tutoring Program requirements pursuant to s. 1008.365(8), F.S., content knowledge focused on early literacy, the science of reading and resources for tutors to use with students.

If you have already attended training for the RAISE High School Tutoring Program, you can access the training materials at the following link: https://www.livebinders.com/b/2991204. If you are interested in attending an upcoming training for the RAISE High School Tutoring Program, please contact JustRead@fldoe.org.

The Florida Center for Reading Research, in partnership with the Florida Department of Education, developed tutoring trainings titled "Developing an Effective Tutoring Program" and "Effective and Evidence-Based Practices for Tutoring." Materials for these trainings can be accessed at the following link: https://fcrr.org/reading-tutors-k-3. If you have questions regarding these trainings, please contact fcrr@fcrr.org.
