Department of Education to Recognize Disability History and Awareness Weeks

The Florida Department of Education will recognize Disability History and Awareness Weeks on Monday, Oct. 3 in the Capitol Rotunda. Guest speakers include Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services Chief Bambi Lockman, and Florida Youth Council Advisor Alex Brown. The two-week celebration aims to raise awareness of the history of disability rights and an understanding of disabilities, while also increasing attention on the unique abilities of students with disabilities.
