Teacher and Leader Preparation Implementation Committee to Meet via Conference Call

Tallahassee, Fla., August 3, 2012 - The Race to the Top Teacher and Leader Preparation Implementation Committee will meet via conference call on Monday. The focus of the meeting will be to review the committee's feedback from their previous discussions on uniform core curriculum, field experiences, and admission requirements for Initial Teacher Preparation Programs, Educator Preparation Institutes, and District Alternative Certification Programs. The committee will begin making recommendations on the uniform core curriculum for all state-approved teacher preparation programs.

The Committee represents Florida's diversity in culture, community, and region, and consists of postsecondary representatives, teachers, principals, district administrators, superintendents, and school board members.
