Student Growth Implementation Committee to Hold Conference Call

The Race to the Top Student Growth Implementation Committee (SGIC) will host a conference call tomorrow to clarify the Committee’s “school component” recommendation. Last week, Florida Education Commissioner Dr. Eric J. Smith gave conditional approval of the Committee’s recommended student growth value added model.

Consisting of teachers, principals, parents, teacher educators, business leaders and other education stakeholders, the committee was established to help inform the process of creating a value added student growth model for school districts to use as they develop new teacher and principal evaluation systems.
