Teacher and Leader Preparation Implementation Committee to Hold Face-to-Face Meeting in Orlando

The Race to the Top Teacher and Leader Preparation Implementation Committee (TLPIC) will hold its next face-to-face meeting Nov. 9-10, 2011 in Orlando. The Committee represents Florida's diversity in culture, community and region, and consists of postsecondary representatives, teachers, principals, district administrators, superintendents, and school board members.

The purpose of the meeting is to review the current Continued Approval Standards and Process for Teacher Preparation Programs, to understand Florida's value-added model and review results of the model using Florida-specific data. The committee will then discuss other data it wishes to review to assist in making recommendations on an accountability model for teacher and leader preparation programs.
