State Board of Education to Meet in Tallahassee

Tallahassee, Fla., April 7, 2014 - The Florida State Board of Education will meet this week in Tallahassee.

Highlights of the meeting include:

• Workshop on Educator Access, Preparation and Quality
• Approval of Career and Technical Education and Adult Education general education standards and industry-driven benchmarks
• Approval of basic skills requirements for postsecondary career and technical certificate education
• Approval of general education core course options for associate in arts or baccalaureate degrees
• Approval of a uniform process to evaluate and approve school readiness program curricula
