Early Learning Resources & Engagement: Birth – Five
We are so encouraged and inspired seeing the different tools and engagement techniques Florida’s early learning teachers have utilized, we put a list of resources and tools together below. These resources support families as they shift to digital spaces while home with their youngest learners. Don’t be afraid to try new things and change up the routine you’ve set at home. If you’re excited to learn something new, your student(s) will as well!

Book Finder from Reading Rockets
Helps families find books appropriate for the age of their child.
Center for Early Literacy Learning (CELL)
as developed specific materials to assist in guiding their child’s early literacy development through the use of fun and exciting early literacy learning experiences. These materials are applicable to specific age groups. Parents may select infants, toddlers, or preschoolers for each type of the resources listed below:
- CELLcasts: CELLcasts are audio/visual versions of CELL Parent Practice Guides. CELLcasts are available for parents to watch and listen to online or download.
- CELL Videos: Each video introduces and illustrates a key component of the CELL Early Literacy Model. The videos are for use by teachers and with parents as indicated.
- CELL Tools: CELL has created an extensive library of tools and resources that are easy to use and easy to implement that aide in supporting families.
VROOM
VROOM offers free, science-based tips and tools to inspire families to turn shared, everyday moments into Brain Building Moments® via app, text and/or printed home resources.

Florida Office of Early Learning (OEL)
FL Office of Early Learning (OEL) provides additional family engagement activities and materials for families to utilize outside of the classroom.

Waterford
Waterford.org has created a resource for parents with 3-4 year-olds – Early Learning Boost emails. These Early Learning Boost emails will each have a video and an activity sent out every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. These are simple age-appropriate resources that parents can do with their children, instead of spending their time searching or planning activities. Parents can go to www.Waterford.org/boost/ to sign up for these free emails.
Cosmic Yoga
Free Yoga and Mindfulness videos for children 3+.
EduCare
EduCare support parents of children between 0-3, by providing complimentary text messaging advice specifically timed to your child’s age, with resources on wellness, early child growth, literacy/education and specific milestones.
GoNoodle
Free Exercise and Mindfulness videos.
