Office of Inspector General seeks Reaccreditation
by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. (CFA)

The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), Office of Inspector General, Investigations Section, will be undergoing a reassessment by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA), in an effort to retain accredited status. On November 15, 2022, the FLDOE, Office of Inspector General, Investigations Section will be reassessed for compliance on policies and procedures, management, operations, and practices. The FLDOE, Office of Inspector General, Investigations Section must comply with 41 mandatory standards in order to receive reaccredited status. As part of the on-site assessment, agency members and the general public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team. Comments must be in writing and must address the office’s ability to comply with CFA standards. A copy of the accreditation standards is available through the CFA website at www.flaccreditation.org. After the assessment team completes their review of the Investigations Section, they will report back to the full Commission, which will then determine if the agency is to maintain accredited status. Participation in the accreditation process is voluntary and, if granted, will be for a three-year period.
