Just Take 20 for Educators
As educators, it’s important to promote and establish the value of lifelong literacy. Knowing where to start, however, can be a challenge. Studies show that it only takes 20 minutes per day to vastly improve a child’s reading ability. In one year, a child who reads 20 minutes a day is exposed to 1.8 million words. For children who only read 5 minutes per day outside of school, the number of words they’re exposed to drops to 282,000. Download the materials you need to encourage your students to read outside the classroom. By utilizing the information found on this site, you’ll be equipped with the information you need to provide literacy support to your students and their families.
