Florida Department of Education’s Statewide Response to Instruction/Intervention (RtI) Implementation Plan
The purpose of this plan is to facilitate the successful implementation of RtI and to formalize statewide efforts to promote schoolwide practices that ensure the highest possible student achievement in both academic and behavioral pursuits within the RtI framework. The plan features a foreword by Dr. Eric J. Smith, Commissioner of Education, in which he states “It is my pleasure to present the Florida Department of Education’s RtI Implementation Plan, which provides the RtI framework to assist districts with critical components, definitions and applications of RtI to support the development of schoolwide RtI implementations. It is my belief that this framework will promote schoolwide practices that align with and accelerate our collective existing efforts to ensure the highest possible student achievement in both academic and behavioral pursuits.” The plan can be accessed and downloaded from the newly-established Florida RtI Web site provided below.
